Introduction to Directing Workshop

This series of workshops will focus on the fundamentals of directing a theatrical production. Some of these fundamental elements will include play analysis, design, and directing practice. By the end of the series (6 workshops that will span six months from January 2019 – June 2019), each student will be expected to stage a single scene featuring two to five actors. These scenes will first be performed for the class, and then performed at the June 25th workshop as part of a directorial showcase that will be open to the community. It is designed for anyone interested in working on technique as a director. Previous training in directing is not required. Chris LaBanca, Executive Director of Solid Lines Productions, will be the lead teacher on these workshops.

Workshop is $20 each class. Dates are Jan 22, Feb 26, March 26, April 23 (Shakespeare's Bday), May 28, and the final class production showcase on June 25. Class is from 7:30-9pm.
